The word search are about the 12 basic concept of the ethnic relations.
These are the meaning and a simple descriptions about the basic concept of the ethnic relations.

• Assimilation

Assimilation is a process of mergers and consolidation between the two cultures of different ethnic groups to form a group with the same culture and identity.
As an example the Malays in Thailand, the assimilation process had happen when the name, language and also their life sytle almost the same except for the religion, had become one with the life style of the Thai...

• Pluralism

Achievement of uniformity in applying the things that are important to all countries but at the same time every nation be allowed to keep its own cultural characteristics.
The pluralism is the combination of two or more society that lived in the same politic or government.
Such as Malaysia, the combination of the Indians, Chinese and also Malay in the same government.

• Segregation

Segregation is the separation between the ethnic groups with different ethnic groups within a country.
The separation happened at a few situation such as the habitat, education system, transportation and also facilities.
Whether segregation exists is based on law or otherwise as Apartheid Policy in South Africa conducted between 1948 - 1994.

• Accommodation

Accommodated is the process that resulted in each ethnic group recognizes and respects the norms and values of other ethnic groups and still retain their culture.
For example outside of Malaysia, Switzerland is a country that have accommodation ethnic relations because the ethnic in German, France, and Italy doing an adaption between themselves.

• Acculturation

Acculturation is a process of acceptance of cultural elements among individuals or groups from a different culture.
Acculturation happen when a group of people with a certain culture are confronted with elements of a different foreign culture to foreign cultural elements that ultimately received and processed in their own culture.
The acculturation is different from assimilation, its doesn't lose the original identity of the receiver.

• Prejudice
  

Prejudice is defined as a negative view of members or other ethnic groups embedded in the heart of a person or a particular ethnic group; prejudice is not expressed openly.
Usually this opinion is not due to the clear, complete or true informations.

• Discrimination

Discrimination is defined as the views, thoughts, and negative belief by a person or ethnic group against members of ethnic or other groups that influence the behavior of the negative view.

• Stereotype

Negative public statements against any ethnic group or excessive representation of a commission of good or bad an ethnic group.

• Ethnocentrism

Beliefs or sense of pride among members of an ethnic group that their ethnic culture and much more good and great from the other ethnic groups.

• Racism

Opinions, thoughts or negative beliefs by a social group of any other groups based on physical characteristics or race alone.
